Southview Dental is proud to be an official provider of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)—a new federal government program designed to help Canadians access quality dental care. If you don’t have private dental insurance and meet the eligibility requirements, you may qualify for coverage under the CDCP. The program provides assistance for a wide range of dental services, helping everyone receive the care they need.
The CDCP is a federal government program that provides coverage for a variety of dental services to eligible Canadians who do not have access to private dental insurance. The plan is now open to all eligible Canadians, regardless of age.
To qualify, you must:
The CDCP covers a broad range of oral health services, including preventive, diagnostic, restorative, and prosthodontic care. Some examples of covered services include:
Coverage is based on the CDCP fee guide and some services may require preauthorization. The CDCP will likely pay a portion of your total cost, not the full amount.
The program uses a co-payment model based on your household income:
PLEASE NOTE: The CDCP follows its own fee guide, which is lower than our standard office fees. As a result, there will always be a portion of the cost not covered by the plan that patients are responsible for paying.
Applications are handled through Service Canada. If you're eligible, you’ll receive an acceptance package and benefits card from Sun Life, who manages the program.
